David Fielding will head the central government and not-for-profit search and selection practice at Tribal.

Fielding was formerly lead partner at Rockpools for their central government, third sector and sports practices.

For the past eight years he has advised on a wide range of high-profile public appointments as an independent assessor for the government department Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Julie Towers, chief executive of Tribal’s resourcing business, added: “Over the last year our central government and not-for-profit attraction and selection business has grown significantly and I am delighted that David is joining us to further extend this.”


Martin Galway has joined Barnes Kavelle as a consultant for its interim management practice.

CBSbutler has appointed Marsha Verlander as assessment and development consultant. Verlander joins from Alexander Mann Services.


Sue Butcher has been appointed HR director at Remploy, the provider of employment services for people with disabilities and health conditions. Butcher joins the executive board of Remploy after being interim HR director since August 2008.

Multi-sector recruiter abrs has taken on Tom Grange as a consultant on its IT team. He joins from Michael Page.

Scottish recruiter Rise Group has chosen Neil Lafferty (left) as group sales director and has confirmed the appointment of Adam Gordon (bottom right as director of Hammond Resources, one of the company’s businesses. Gordon has been acting as interim head of business since October 2008 and has now been appointed director.

Fiona Bradshaw has been promoted to head of practice at VMA Search. Bradshaw joined VMA, a corporate communications, PR and investor relations specialist, 18 months ago to help strengthen its executive search offering. Tim Ledeboer and Laura McDyre have been promoted to senior consultants within VMA Selection. Ledeboer is based in London and McDyre operates from Manchester.


Jo Sellick, managing director of legal and financial specialist Sellick Partnership, is among seven new appointments to the executive committee of APSCo (Association of Professional Staffing Companies). Other new members are: Paul Goodman (Goodman Masson); Tara Ricks (Joslin Rowe Associates); Uzair Bawany (Contact Recruitment); Joel Kirkland (JMK Recruitment); Crawford Temple (Professional Passport); and Graham Palfery- Smith (Faro Recruitment).



Nick Holt has been chosen to head SR Search, part of executive search specialist the SR Group. He will join the company as a partner, having previously worked at Global Legal Search as a partner for the last five years.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has appointed Peter Searle as its new vice-chairman. Searle is chief executive of ITrecruiter Spring Group and is one of three new high-profile REC appointments. Fred van der Tang, managing director of Randstad’s UK Professional Services, is chair of the Employment Policy Committee (EPC) and Catherine Johnstone, owner of Catherine Johnstone Recruitment, has been appointed vice-chair of the EPC.
