Time to get entries ready for 2010 Awards

Take a bow, and sing the praises of the recruiting success of you and your team this year by entering Recruiter’s Awards for Excellence 2010.

The Awards enter a new era this year with the introduction of honours for in-house recruiters and recruitment outsourcing (RO) firms, to sit alongside the traditional recognition for recruitment agencies. The move parallels the recently refocused direction of Recruiter to embrace the entire recruitment community. Recruiter publisher Phil Hayne said: “We had a number of high-profile employers at last year’s event, and the prospect of bringing together even more leading employers and top agencies to celebrate success together is very exciting.”

Entries will be accepted online from early October at www.recruiterawards.co.uk

Upon completing the survey, open online until 9 October, participants will be emailed a free version of the results, a summary of which will be published in Recruiter and on recruiter.co.uk. Responses, which will be collated by an independent research company, remain confidential, and identities will be withheld from Recruiter and third parties. Individual respondents and their organisations cannot be named or recognised.

Helping employees overcome imposter syndrome

A new role can trigger ‘imposter syndrome’, the feeling of self-doubt experienced by over 60% of UK workers about their work accomplishments. They believe they don’t deserve their jobs or success or that they can never meet others’ expectations. As a result, they feel like imposters or frauds at the workplace – and it doesn’t matter how high you’ve risen in the organisation or if your achievements are staggering. In fact, it’s experienced commonly as we take on more responsibility.
