Ambitious county-by-county launch planned

County-specific job site network NewJobsIn.com is aiming to launch a website a month over the coming months. Callum Slade, managing director of NewJobsIn.com, told Recruiter that it will follow the recent relaunch of NewJobsInKent.com, with launches in Essex by the end of January, East Sussex in February and London in March.

"We want to recruit a new member of staff each week and launch a new site every other week," he said, adding that the relaunched Kent site reflects the findings of a six-month and £24,000 usability study into what users want from a job board. "We will only advertise jobs and won't distract users with irrelevant, non-career-related advertising."

The site includes the facility to confine your job search to a 10-mile radius. "People get fed up if their search returns jobs out of their location, so we've included the radial searching feature," said Slade.

Berry Recruitment, a medium-size recruitment agency operating within the Midlands and the South-East, recently started using the site.

"We use around five job sites at any time and do give new ones a try. We have to spend wisely and usually trial sites for a month. It's so far so good with NewJobsInKent. It's also incredibly user-friendly," said Carly Spears, recruitment consultant at the agency. "Overall the job boards are working better for us than newspapers at the moment."

While committed to the regional approach, NewJobsIn.com also has plans for a range of sector- and country-specific sites. It is backed by an Australian media company and a similar regional launch is planned for the Australian market.
