Job search engine Adzuna has launched in Germany today, with the company saying it is aiming to transform the way Germans look for jobs.

According to Adzuna, Germany has more than 200,000 live job vacancies, which the search engine collates in real-time across the major job boards. Adzuna.de also includes a social layer, giving users access to their Facebook and LinkedIn contacts.

The free site, which launched in the UK in 2011, seeks to empower the 2.5m jobseekers in Germany to make better career decisions, bringing together vacancy maps, company hiring patterns and providing data for job titles and location combinations.

As reported in Recruiter last year (Global Spotlight, Recruiter, July 2012) the German job board market has subtle differences to the UK model and having a “German experience” will be essential to appeal to jobseekers.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, comments: “We believe jobseekers in Germany are underserved by the tools currently available in the market. Our aim is to arm jobseekers in Germany with all the information they need to find their perfect job.”
