What does deflation actually mean? And what does it mean for accountants? This article offers some personal and professional advice.

Some financial commentators are predicting a re-run of the 1930s, when there was a worldwide economic depression with tight credit, business failures and high unemployment. It was a time of deflation, when prices fell. Between 1920 and 1935 the value of money in the UK increased by 70 per cent.
