Responsible Sourcing Specialist

NEPCon (Nature, Economy and People Connected) is a non–profit organisation that works for sustainable land use and climate–friendly solutions. With 230+ staff around the world, our projects build capacity, raise awareness, conserve nature and streamline sustainability through innovation.
NEPCon's activities are growing and we are therefore seeking an enthusiastic sustainability professional to support the provision of our responsible sourcing services in UK, Ireland and globally.
As Responsible Sourcing Specialist in the NEPCon Solutions division you will be working within these main areas:
• Responsible Sourcing: Provide advisory services to a portfolio of clients in the timber, palm oil, textiles, soy, beef and other natural resource sectors, to support them in their goals to meet legal requirements such as the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), established sustainability standards (including FSC??, RA SAS, SBP, RSPO, POIG, CanopyStyle, etc.), and bespoke sustainability requirements (for instance, an organisation's own Sustainability Policy). Another important aspect of this work is auditing against NEPCon's LegalSource and ResponsibleSource standards.
• Sales & Marketing: Conduct sales and marketing activities to raise the profile of NEPCon Solutions services in UK and Ireland. This includes creation of marketing and sales materials, conducting sales meetings, creating budgets and proposals, attending stakeholder events and conferences, sales meetings and other activities. You will also facilitate NEPCon's global team of staff to understand NEPCon Solutions services and effectively sell these services in the market.
• Administration & Internal Support: Includes reporting on progress, managing audit and risk assessment schedules of clients, keeping data up–to–date in NEPCon's Salesforce database, and providing internal training to NEPCon staff on legality and sustainability issues.
Professional requirements
• Higher education (at least bachelor's degree) in an industry–relevant discipline, for example geography, forestry, biology, environmental science, international development or policy.• 2–6 years' relevant work experience, preferably from an NGO, sustainability consultancy, sustainability in the corporate sector, forestry or supply chain management.• Deep insight into raw material sustainability issues.• Understanding of risk–based approaches to legality and sustainability assessments.• Excellent spoken and written English. Fluency in French or Spanish will be considered an additional asset. • Proficiency in the MS Office package and good understanding of administrative IT systems.

Position details
• Work time: 40 hours/week • The position reports to the NEPCon Solutions Deputy Director for Europe and Russia• Working location: NEPCon's London office (CAN Mezzanine, 49–51 East Road, London N1 6AH), or working from home or co–working space elsewhere in the UK• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience• Expected starting date: as soon as possible
