Our client a pharmaceutical company in North West London is looking to recruit a Recruitment and Development Manager for a newly created role. The vacancy is for 6 months initially with the opportunity for the role to become permanent. The Recruitment and Development Manager will deliver recruitment and learning and development strategies in support of the Company's business aims. Engaging with senior managers and hiring managers, you will proactively source the best talent, ensuring best practice selection and interview processes are implemented, reducing costs where possible. Furthermore, the Recruitment and Development Manager will provide generalist support to the HR Function, particularly in the area of Learning and Development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of annual recruitment strategies
  • Design and implement a consistent recruitment policy, streamlining resourcing processes and procedures
  • Build excellent relationships with external recruitment agency partners, reviewing terms, negotiating fees, and driving quality and value
  • Ensure recruitment budgets are well managed and planned
  • Build and manage candidate pipelines, using various channels to source high quality applicants
  • Champion best practice and provide training and sound advice to hiring managers on policies and procedures, such as selection, interviewing, GDPR and recruiter liaison
  • Manage and administrate the full recruitment cycle, assisting with job descriptions, ATS training, filtering CVs, arranging interviews, providing feedback to recruiters and candidates, extending offers and acting as the point of contact for all resourcing matters
  • Maintain accurate and legally compliant records within our ATS, providing reporting as and when needed.
  • Ensure high quality of the candidate experience
  • Support the development of Learning and Development strategies for the business
  • Analyse trends in training requirements to determine the needs of employees
  • Source and coordinate third party training providers
  • Support Learning and Development budget management
  • Assist with the development, facilitation and delivery of internal training activities
  • Evaluate the uptake and effectiveness of internal and external training activities
  • Provide accurate information and HR admin support to employees as required
  • Provide expert advice to line managers in relation to employment law and employee relations as required
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and administration of employee life cycle
  • Offer ad-hoc HR operational assistance as required to the HR Manager


Education and Experience

  • Extensive experience in full-cycle temp / perm / consultant recruitment, ideally in biotech/healthcare or a sector with similar recruitment challenges
  • Extensive experience of reviewing recruiter terms and negotiating fees
  • A solid understanding of best practice and legally compliant recruitment policies and procedures
  • A proven record of implementing recruitment process improvements
  • A solid understanding of Data Protection Legislation and the HR function's responsibilities under GDPR
  • Experience of using an Applicant Tracking System(s)
  • Previous experience operating in an HR generalist capacity
  • CIPD Level 5 HR Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing Learning and Development activities within an organisation
