Branch Manager - Construction Recruitment
Based in the South Hampshire area, this national recruitment agency is a well established name both locally and across the UK with their network of offices and an international reach; they seek a Construction Recruitment branch manager.
This role, initially a billing role is for a Construction Recruitment branch manager who is required to to harness the existing skills of the consultants in the team and also to capitalise on the companies presence on many PSL’s with Tier One and Tier Two main contractors and five and four star national residential developers.
The existing team comprises of predominantly experienced consultants supplying skilled and unskilled Labour and Trades operatives to local main and sub contractors and a small team of Recruitment Consultants working permanent and contract white collar middle management production and commercial staff desks. Whilst the company does undertake recruitment in other sectors, this branch focuses entirely on Construction Recruitment.
The branch has dedicated administration and the successful candidate will report into the Regional Director, who is based in the south of England but will be only based in this branch two or three times per month at most. Therefore a real leader is required: someone who can manage the day to day operations, establish coherent sales strategies and set and manage goals and targets. Characteristically, the Branch Manager will have a demonstrable track record of developing individuals and teams, of teaching new skills and stretching the capability set of the team as a whole. An emphasis will be in “hands-on” management: whilst the Branch Manager would be expected to bill, it would be with the assistance of a Resourcer and as the success and growth of the team increases, the expectation of billing will diminish.
This role would ideally suit and up-and-coming Team Leader of an experienced Branch Manager who has billing capabilities either in the White of Blue Collar Construction recruitment environment. Qualities must include empathy and listening skills, as this firm is not a hire-and-fire aggressive sales organisation, although as Branch manager the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate tenacity, commercial acumen and a desire to expand business operations profitably.
