APPOINTMENTS: 22-26 MAY 2023

This week’s appointments include: Foyne Jones, Gleeson Recruitment Group, mustard jobs, Robert Walters, Spencer Clarke Group

• Recruitment firm for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom industry Foyne Jones has appointed Jodi Gormley as recruitment resourcer. Gormley joins after 17 years at trade kitchen supplier Howdens, where she progressed from working the counter to kitchen sales designer.

Gleeson Recruitment Group has appointed Laura Cooke as chief financial officer (CFO). Cooke, who qualified with PwC, built a CFO career in London before relocating back to the Midlands. Most recently, she acted as CFO for London-based performing arts theatre The Old Vic, where she played a role in helping the company survive the pandemic and raise over £7m in funding.

• Bristol-based creative recruitment agency mustard jobs has appointed three new directors. Archie Harvey, previously an associate director leading the XP division (experiential, events & exhibitions recruitment), has now been promoted to sales director. Joe Bungey has been placed as operations director. Having started his journey as a trainee recruitment consultant in the built environment division, Bungey worked his way up the business and will now support all the departments of mustard and oversee management of the systems. Phil Boshier is promoted to associate director of people and culture. This new role involves developing existing sales staff and also managing internal recruitment strategy, onboarding and training new starters.

• International recruitment group Robert Walters has made a number of changes to its Board. Steven Cooper, a non-executive director of the firm since 2018, will be stepping down from the Board with effect from 1 June due to upcoming regulatory requirements relating to his role as CEO of financial services Aldermore Group. Michaela Tod and Jane Hesmondhalgh have been appointed to the Board as independent NEDs from 1 June.

Spencer Clarke Group, a Preston-based recruitment agency, has appointed Richard Shorrock as its first divisional manager to support its growth plans in the education and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) sector. Shorrock joined Spencer Clarke Group as a consultant in 2017 and has assumed the role through developing and strengthening SEND recruitment services to local authorities nationwide.
